Ever since she hit the music scene, Lizzo has released an impressive body of work. And this incredible discography currently consists of  four studio albums, two mixtapes, two extended plays, 23 singles, and one promotional single. Before signing on with Atlantic Records, she released two studio albums, LizzoBangers in 2013 and Big Grrrl Small World in 2015. In between these releases, in 2014, Time named her one of 14 music artists to watch that year.

But her strongest breakthrough came after Lizzo’s 2019 release of her third studio album, Cuz I Love You. And what marks this period of her life is that she had overcome her early age body issues to become an advocate of body positivity and self-love.

Special

Recently, Lizzo put out her fourth and latest album, Special. The album was released on July 15, 2022 and preceded by the lead single “About Damn Time” which was released a few months prior on April 14. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made it to the top ten in twelve other countries.

The album has been best described as a funk, pop, hip hop, and disco fusion album. And this cool mix led to positive reviews from many music critics. And fans certainly agreed as it peaked at #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album even became, at the time, the highest-charting album by a female artist in 2022 as well as earning Lizzo recognition for largest week by units earned among all albums released by women in 2022.
